“Deadeye keeps our feet on the ground and our spirit in the heavens.” - JAZZWISE

Reinier Baas, Jonas Burgwinkel and Kit Downes join forces with Deadeye. This trio uses the tried and tested formula of guitar, drums and Hammond organ to shed new light on the wildly diverse influences of its members. allaboutjazz.com writes: “The result of this mix of many influences is that there is no such thing as a "typical" Deadeye track. This is an adventurous and innovative musical trio, capable of passages of great beauty (the languid "Song for the Sea"), moments of high-energy excitement ("Hokus"), dramatic imagery ("Wild Bill") and cinematic soundscapes (Morricone's "Ninna Nanna per Adulteri").

Reinier Baas is a guitarist, composer and recording artist from the Netherlands with a DIY approach and an idiosyncratic body of work. His ‘mostly instrumental opera’ from 2016 - entitled ‘Reinier Baas vs. Princess Discombobulatrix’ - and his 2012 record ‘Mostly Improvised Instrumental Indie Music’ both earned him an Edison Award for best album. He has composed for and performed with the WDR Big Band, Metropole Orkest and Pynarello Symphony Orchestra, is a member of Benjamin Herman’s punk-jazz outfit ‘Bughouse’, forms a duo with saxophonist Ben van Gelder, and has played with Louis Cole, Gregory Porter and Han Bennink.

Kit Downes is a BBC Jazz Award winning, Mercury Music Award nominated solo recording artist for ECM Records. He has toured the world playing piano, church organ and harmonium with his own bands ('ENEMY', 'Troyka' and 'Elt') as well as with artists such as Squarepusher, Bill Frisell, 'Empirical', Benny Greb and Sam Amidon. Kit performs solo pipe organ and solo piano concerts - and also plays in collaborations with saxophonist Tom Challenger, cellist Lucy Railton and composer Shiva Feshareki.

Jonas Burgwinkel is one of the most sought-after drummers in the European Jazz scene. Apart from the work with his own projects „Medusa Beats“ and „Side B“ he is known for his longstanding collaboration with the „Pablo Held Trio“. In addition to this, he has recorded over 80 jazz albums and toured and recorded worldwide, with artists such as John Scofield, Chris Potter, Lee Konitz and Fred Hersch. His numerous accolades include the ECHO Jazz Award for best drummer and the prestigious WDR JAZZPREIS and SWR JAZZPREIS. Burgwinkel is a professor at the Hochschule Für Musik Und Tanz Köln.
